I really miss the 7 Habits sessions with everyone.
I feel trying to live the habits makes me a stronger person.
Every time I listen to the tape and reread about a habit I get new insights.
Have a great summer.

Making the Habits a Way of Life
Reading the book about the habits and discussing them is a lot easier than putting them into practice in my everyday life. I constantly listen to the CD in my car as a reminder of the habits and the impact each habit has on my life. (Both professional and personal) Let's lift each other up and keep reminding each other of the importance of making the habits a way of life. I miss seeing all of you and will always remember sharing these life lessons with you.

I am a little saddened that our workshop is "over." I will definately miss the positive energy we create together. It has been especially helpful these past few weeks because I feel as if I'm hanging by my fingernails at school. Learning with each of you has been the highlight of my spring. Thanks so much! I hope we can find time to get together again in the fall. Like Donna Martin mentioned, group support on a new endeavor is often very helpful. Take care.

Living in my circle
Things have been a little crazy here of late; school, home, church....I guess it is the time of the year. I have been really trying hard to do all of the habits, and I have found myself much less stressed. I am more focused and less stressed--IT'S WORKING! I think the one that has impacted me the most is living in my circle of influence. I have found there are so many things I can do something about--if I stay in the circle. I was a little proactive in my life, but I have found just looking for the parts I have control over has helped me deal with the things I don't have control over. The tools I am learning here are really changing my life; my husband has even commented on it. I slip up sometimes, but I am hoping, with the conscious effort, these will really become habits, and a way of life. I am not just hoping, I am working to make it happen. The other thing I have seen is my ability to ease up on myself. I used to be so much harder on myself than I ever was on others. Giving myself credit for my progress and continuing to work has really helped me see true changes. Oh the wonders of a shift. I never want to lose this enthusiasm for it. I am so glad to be spending this time with you guys. This is really wonderful. I hope all of your weather is sunny the rest of this week and school year.

Sticking to it!!
This weekend proved to be a test of my patience and strength. I tried to remember things that we have discussed in our workshop and I made the decision to be "proactive" not reactive. It was hard at times because that meant biting my tongue instead of fussing with some family members but by thinking before I reacted it saved alot of hurt feelings.
This workshop is the best! I hope everyone is enjoying it like I am.

7 Habits for All

Each time we have a new meeting, I am really trying to live the habit. Of course, I fail at times, but I try to get right back up and start again. What I have also been doing is giving the knowlege of the habits I learn to my students. When they are reacting to what other people are saying or doing, I tell them about being proactive. Instead of Win-Lose, try win-win. This is helping me to keep myself reminded of the habits and live by them each day. I know I have a long way to go, but I'm already feeling that paradigm shift. THANKS so much for allowing us to do this workshop. I believe I was ready to BLOW up, but now, I think I'm going to be alright. Thanks to everyone who is attending the workshop and giving me great insight. You are all wonderful!!

Making the 7 Habits Work

As I sit here reading over the blog with Mckinley, our two-year old, sitting on my lap, I realize that we can strike a better balance of work, friends, and family without totally restructuring our lives. You guys are such a great group! Thanks for being flexible on our ending date! See you next week. Remember your Private to Public Victory homework.

Blog
I hope we can all continue to keep in touch. I really want to shift my paradigm. I think this could change the face of our school system. Stoney, it has been wonderful. I hope we can offer this to more people. I love it.

Thanks for sharing!
I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed the dates I had with you last Thursday at 12:00, 3:00, 6:00 and 9:00. These helped me get to know the other members of our group and get a good variety of feedback. I do think that the really great thing about teachers is-- we love to talk!! I look forward to seeing all of you this Thursday.
By the way, how are you all coming on your Personal Mission Statement?

Looking Forward to Thursday

It has been so nice to hear from you this week. I know it's a crazy time, but it's also encouraging to know that we see some hope in the 7 Habits Process. Grindl has shared a great video with me that I hope we can view Thursday; it really puts our information overload into perspective.
See you soon,
Stoney

Thanks for a Great First Day!

Dear Group,
From your feedback, our first day seemed to go pretty well. I'll work on the temperature, free coffee, and longer discussion times for next week. Please feel free to post to our blog as things come up.
For example, I'm really not living the Habits right now because I'm creating this blog instead of spending time with my wife and daughter. So I'll post back later!
