Sticking to it!!

This weekend proved to be a test of my patience and strength. I tried to remember things that we have discussed in our workshop and I made the decision to be "proactive" not reactive. It was hard at times because that meant biting my tongue instead of fussing with some family members but by thinking before I reacted it saved alot of hurt feelings.
This workshop is the best! I hope everyone is enjoying it like I am.

7 Habits for All

Each time we have a new meeting, I am really trying to live the habit. Of course, I fail at times, but I try to get right back up and start again. What I have also been doing is giving the knowlege of the habits I learn to my students. When they are reacting to what other people are saying or doing, I tell them about being proactive. Instead of Win-Lose, try win-win. This is helping me to keep myself reminded of the habits and live by them each day. I know I have a long way to go, but I'm already feeling that paradigm shift. THANKS so much for allowing us to do this workshop. I believe I was ready to BLOW up, but now, I think I'm going to be alright. Thanks to everyone who is attending the workshop and giving me great insight. You are all wonderful!!

Wonderful Workshop

This is a wonderful workshop! I go back to my school (BES), and tell them what a great meeting we had. It has been a great stress reliever for my professional and personnal life.

Making the 7 Habits Work

As I sit here reading over the blog with Mckinley, our two-year old, sitting on my lap, I realize that we can strike a better balance of work, friends, and family without totally restructuring our lives. You guys are such a great group! Thanks for being flexible on our ending date! See you next week. Remember your Private to Public Victory homework.

Editing Post

We figured out how to edit your post without trashing it. Click on NEW POST and when you get there go to the top EDIT POSTS. You can view other people's posts and you can edit your own.
Hope that helps.

Blog

I hope we can all continue to keep in touch. I really want to shift my paradigm. I think this could change the face of our school system. Stoney, it has been wonderful. I hope we can offer this to more people. I love it.
I've struggled with my weather all day--all week in fact. So not only did I come late today, I came in the guise of Eyeore. But this group is filled with such positive energy, I am feeling much better. Thanks to all. I am really enjoying being a part of this group.
The 7 Habits Workshop is an awesome workshop that I highly recommend to everyone!!!
I am really enjoying this workshop. It really helps me de-stress!
Stoney,

This workshop has been excellent. We need it for every employee in the county. It is like a spiritual cleanising every week

Date Change

The May 17th date is ok with me if I hear back from my sub. The end of May is so busy though. We have Senior Exams starting on the 18th and we usually use the day before as review. What are your comments on the date change?

Thanks for sharing!

I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed the dates I had with you last Thursday at 12:00, 3:00, 6:00 and 9:00. These helped me get to know the other members of our group and get a good variety of feedback. I do think that the really great thing about teachers is-- we love to talk!! I look forward to seeing all of you this Thursday.

By the way, how are you all coming on your Personal Mission Statement?

Looking Forward to Thursday

It has been so nice to hear from you this week. I know it's a crazy time, but it's also encouraging to know that we see some hope in the 7 Habits Process. Grindl has shared a great video with me that I hope we can view Thursday; it really puts our information overload into perspective.

See you soon,

Stoney

Thanks for a Great First Day!

Dear Group,

From your feedback, our first day seemed to go pretty well. I'll work on the temperature, free coffee, and longer discussion times for next week. Please feel free to post to our blog as things come up.

For example, I'm really not living the Habits right now because I'm creating this blog instead of spending time with my wife and daughter. So I'll post back later!
