Dear Group,
From your feedback, our first day seemed to go pretty well. I'll work on the temperature, free coffee, and longer discussion times for next week. Please feel free to post to our blog as things come up.
For example, I'm really not living the Habits right now because I'm creating this blog instead of spending time with my wife and daughter. So I'll post back later!

I just wanted to let you know that today was great! I'm looking forward to the next 4 weeks and to finding better ways to manage my time so that I can include more family and me time. I liked what you said about scheduling the important people (family) into your day. I needed to hear that! I looked at the Franklin Covey site a minute ago. I'm going to be checking more into the planning kit. I'm always looking for better ways to organize!
I also enjoyed our time together today. I am excited about the implications of our training and our group. I think the dynamics will be great. Although it was just an introduction, today was pretty powerful.
I keep thinking about my poor, pitiful neglected goose. Actually, I wonder if I should say "geese" since it feels like it I have to be productive in so many different arenas. Does anyone else feel the same way? Too many geese in your barnyard??
I totally agree with you both. I keep my sanity by being with my family and making time for them helps be be a better teacher.
I absolutely agree with too many geese. I know I often do not get what I need to get done, on the personal level with my students to make the academic as meaningful as it could be. I believe this workshop will help me find the balance I am looking for. I also hope the support group will be here to keep me going.
I just wanted to say that last week was an eye opener for me. I realized that I exhaust most of my energy in things that I cannot control (circle of concern). I also realized (shamefully) that I neglect my family when I really should be putting them first. It's just so hard sometimes because we as teachers have so many things that are demanded of us.
I really am enjoy this workshop. It makes me take a closer look at my life and the people important to me. You all are so easy to talk to, thanks.
